Updates

--Flower bed not finished--may never be finished. Rosco keeps digging holes to sleep in--and in the process kicks all the mulch out, digs up the flowers, etc. Since Sunday the mixture of crushed red peppers and cayenne pepper worked to keep him out (along with a sprinkling of stinky cumin); hopefully this keeps working! If not i am armed with my next secret weapon of crushed red pepper infused rubbing alcohol spray. Cheap, and easy to make; we'll see if it actually works.

--New job/promotion going great! Just keeping me even busier than i thought it would. I am about to finish my first month and love it.

--Been squeezing in as many lake days on the boat as we can before the weather turns colder. Good news is we just booked a winter cruise, so now i have something to look forward to during the cold months ahead!

--Still supposed to have jaw surgery (as part of my orthodontic work) sometime before Christmas. I have an appt today so maybe they can give me a better idea of the timeframe. I just want to get it over with!

Last Weekend Was a Lazy One

Did a lot of nothin' while it rained and rained and rained...

Project of the Week

My new, half-done, flower bed in the backyard; the big question is how to keep my silly puppy from digging more holes in it (a temporary fix was boards, rake, shovel, chair...). Hope to finish this tomorrow and get a better pic up!

Lake Time

It wouldn't be Labor Day without the lake! So it's a little low...we still have fun!

10 Wonderful Years!

Happy Anniversary to us! Friday was our wedding anniversary--i can hardly believe it has been 10 years! Thursday night we had dinner at Z Tejas and Steven surprised me with a basket full of goodies, including a leopard Snuggie--yes i've always wanted one.

We went to San Antonio Fri (took the day off of work) and stayed at the historic Crockett hotel downtown a block from the Riverwalk--we could see the Alamo from our room. Steven surprised me again with flowers, wine, cheese and crackers in the room. He's also sending me to a day at the spa this month, while i send him to a day at the Texas Ski Ranch for wakeboarding/dirt biking.
We took a romantic carriage ride to the Blue Star Brewery, then later checked out Tycoon Flats and met up with Angie, who hung out with us the rest of the night.
Got up Sat and walked and shopped the Riverwalk. Had a yummy lunch at The Lodge for Grandma's 85th birthday, then had cake and visited with the familia all afternoon.
