Real Men Wear Pink

Trip to the Ozarks

We were fortunate enough to get the chance to spend a week in June at Aunt Sandy and Jayne's lake house in Osage Beach, Missouri. We drove up in one day, pulling our boat. The first night was full of excitement, including some major tornado producing thunderstorms (12 twisters in the area) and a trip to the ER for Ellen after she wacked her forehead and cut it open. The next day was beautiful and the twins were up and ready to go. They wore their life jackets all day, and tried to sleep in them too.

Sarah LOVES Uncle Steven, and his fast boat!

Lunch at "Dog Days"--they were even having a dock dog long jump and high jump competition!
Lunch at the "Shady Gator"

We found some tasty places to eat, right on the water, during our trip.

We even found the party cove one day.
Girls drive boats too!

Back at the house we all hung out on the dock and took turns on the jet ski.
We "stole" Aunt Sandy's boat one day and found a quiet little cove to swim in.

Our last night in Osage Beach we played miniature golf. Steven beat us all--must be the shorts.

It took two days to drive home, but who could resist stopping and spending half a day at the Bass Pro Shop World Headquarters in Springfield, MO?

Family Reunion

Reunion time in Abilene! Steven is the reigning champion of horseshoes AND wahoo. This trip was my first long ride on the motorcycle.

Glamour Shots

I promise to get some posts up soon of what's been going on the last few weeks. Spent one weekend in Abilene, and one week in Missouri, so it's been crazy.

Here are some awesome pics my sister took of me and Steven while we were at the lakehouse. Check out her photography blog-- http://jenpinkertonphotography.blogspot.com/ , for more pics of us, and to see more of her work.

Floor is Done! (Again {sigh})

In April Steven installed new wood floors in our home. In April the house flooded. Since it was a total loss for the floor, we actually went with a different style the 2nd time. It's even better than the first!

Here's a link to what the first floor looked like. http://blogger-betsy.blogspot.com/2009/04/its-looking-good.html

Let's hope this is the last time we ever have to put floors in this house.
