At a lovely birthday dinner for Kristi at PF Changs last night, i tried the "Bistro Ginger Beer" on tap. Loved it. So today i am googling, trying to find a Ginger Beer that i can buy for home drinkage, but alas, i keep running into non-alcoholic beers, or ginger sodas/ales. Anyone out there ever bought anything like this, or know where to get it? Even Specs didn't have anything like it online.
My sweetie took me out for an official date night last night, which we hardly ever do. We tried theDahlia Cafein Liberty Hill for dinner--a little place that used to be a nursery and specializes in "homemade dressed up country cooking". Food and service were great, and on Saturday nights they have live gospel music. After we stuffed ourselves we went to see the movie The Hangover. Fun Tuesday night!
Yesterday i was surprised (it's not even my birthday!) with hot, fresh cookies delivered to the office (yes, i shared). If you've never heard of such a thing, check outTiff's Treats--they are currently serving the Austin and Dallas area. It's a yummy alternative to sending flowers, and it's not a frilly "cookie bouquet" either--just a big box of cookies! For a little bit more, they will add 1/2 pints of milk or mini blue bell ice creams to your order. Awesomeness.
Anna recently recommended this cool website to me. It keeps track of what books you have read, want to read, and what others are reading that would interest you, especially handy if you are in a book club. Check out my list @www.goodreads.com/betsyboop .
